Many businesses both small and large support the chamber because it is simply good business! Our current membership is a reflection of our commitment to work with all segments of the business community, all levels of government and special interest groups to achieve economic success.

        Recent Accomplishments:

  • Saved businesses 26.5% on 2007 business taxes as Chamber delegation swayed council vote on a proposed 35% business tax increase.
  • Received Rural Alberta Development Fund award for success in recruiting medical professionals through the Communities Leading Regional Recruitment and Retention Coaltion.
  • Collaboration with the Cold Lake Economic Development Advisory Committee on business attraction and retention resulted in Community Economic Profile project to be budgeted for 2008.
  • Several lobbying efforts regarding road and infrastructure improvements: English Bay Road, Twining of Hwy 28, addressing reduced downtown traffic flows caused by newly installed traffic islands at 52nd Street and Dairy Queen entrance.
